Try Before You Buy: A Handy Wet Test Checklist

When it comes to shopping for a Jacuzzi® hot tub, we’re firm believers in the “try before you buy” mentality. Unless you’ve already been in a Jacuzzi® brand hot tub, it’s tough to describe just how great the experience is. You simply have to feel it for yourself. You wouldn’t buy a car without test driving it first, so apply the same car-shopping approach as you navigate the waters of a dealership. We highly recommend scheduling a wet test, a sort of hot tub test drive in which you and your family, ready with your bathing suits, try out a range of filled and fully-heated hot tubs inside the dealership. By immersing yourself firsthand, you’ll fully understand the benefits of hot tub ownership and get the peace of mind that you’re making the right purchase. When it’s time for your wet test, simply arm yourself with your bathing suit and this easy checklist:

MAKE SURE IT FITS. Once you’re in the hot tub, it’s much easier to answer questions like “Is the tub I’m in a good fit for my body type and height?” and “Is there enough room for the whole family?” Adequate depth and foot space are crucial, so make sure there’s enough room in the foot well and that your torso is fully immersed.

PICK THE BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE. Find the ideal multi-level seating combinations that work for your family. Seating depth is important, so check whether the seats are deep enough to keep you from floating around. Lounge seats aren’t for everyone, so test them out to see if they work for you. A cool-down seat for adults should be elevated enough that it still works for small children.

FEEL THE POWER OF THE JETS.lounger jets The right jets can make or break your hot tub enjoyment, so test out each different jet type, placement and pressure. Consider that different jet combinations hit different sore spots like calves, wrists, shoulders and back, so make sure the jets in your tub can focus on the areas where you need the most relief. Also, make sure to test each jet’s adjustable strength.

‘LISTEN’ TO THE SILENCE. Hear that? It’s the sound of silence. A top-of-the-line hot tub should make virtually no audible noise when the water is circulating, heating and filtering. Also, listen when the jets are engaged — no one wants their quiet time spoiled, including your neighbors, so make sure the hot tub you’re in runs quietly.

EXPERIENCE THE WATER. The best hot tubs avoid unpleasant chlorine smells and skin-drying chemicals. During your wet test, take a deep breath and smell the freshness of the water that comes from the CLEARRAY® water purification technology. After you’re done soaking, feel the silky smoothness of your skin.

PLAY WITH THE SPECIAL FEATURES.  You wouldn’t test drive a car without trying out the radio system, lighting and luxury features, so do the same here. Special features can make all the difference when it comes to comfort, so make sure your hot tub is equipped with the features you need for a fully immersive experience.

ASK AWAY! While soaking, you’ll undoubtedly come up with questions you might not have otherwise thought of. There’s no need to worry about privacy concerns during your wet test. Our dealers offer special “mood rooms” designed to maximize privacy, and are happy to schedule wet tests after hours when no one else is present. If it makes you more comfortable, some dealers are also willing to make sure a female staff member is present.

Don’t wait, take advantage of our special factory savings from August 7-16. Contact us and schedule your wet test today!
